The title sounds simple but yet maybe some us just want to refresh what a digital camera is all about. The word "photography" comes from the French state but is based on the Greek word and literally means "to draw with light". So art in photography is essentially the art of seeing and balancing light.
First the light must enter through the lens, which is a series of pieces of concave convex glass. If the focus gets well then the light will meet on the sensor. The light passes through Aperture (a sort of open-sized opening opening) placed inside the lens. It is basically an opening mechanic that controls how much light reaches the sensor.
Shutter is located inside the camera body right in front of the sensor. Shutter functions as a mechanics in determining / controlling how long the sensor is exposed to light. The sensor is a highly sensitive square disk in which light is absorbed, transformed into digital information in the form of color pixels that form an image.

For DSLR type cameras, before touching the sensor the light will be reflected through the Mirror (mirror) and into the prism to be forwarded to the eyepiece and the eyes of the user. For this type of mirrorless camera, direct light touches the sensor and the object is displayed on the LCD.
