Jetour T2 Dark Warrior Limited Edition Malaysia Review: 69 Units, From RM167,600

To celebrate Malaysia's 69th Merdeka, Jetour has launched a very limited version of its rugged T2 SUV. The T2 Dark Warrior Limited Edition arrived on 21 August 2026, with only 69 units available. It wears a matte black exterior, tough accessories and a price of RM167,600 before on-the-road costs and insurance.

The difference is RM10,800, which matches the value of the Dark Warrior package that is included.

Engine and Drivetrain

Mechanically, the Dark Warrior is identical to the standard T2. It has a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder producing 245 PS and 375 Nm, a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. This is a strong setup for a boxy SUV, giving both everyday usability and capability on rougher roads.

What You Get for the Extra Money

The exterior is finished in matte black, the only colour, with red brake calipers, roof rails and black Jetour logos. The Dark Warrior package, valued at RM10,800, adds a sturdier-looking front grille, a front guard rail, a black Jetour bonnet script, a roof rack, a modular side ladder and a side hanging plate. These pieces transform the T2 into a more adventure-ready machine, and the roof rack and ladder are genuinely useful for camping and outdoor trips.

Interior and Features

The standard T2 is already well equipped, and all of it carries over: automatic LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.3-inch digital cluster, seven drive modes, powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a 15.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker Sony audio system and Level 2 ADAS. The cabin has a premium feel for the price.

Warranty

Jetour backs the car with a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and a ten-year or 1,000,000 km powertrain warranty, plus five free services. For a Chinese brand still building its reputation in Malaysia, this long cover is reassuring.

Is It a Good Investment?

Limited editions with a clear story, such as a Merdeka anniversary, often attract collectors and enthusiasts, which can support resale values. However, the numbers matter: you are paying RM10,800 over the regular T2, and the accessories are bolt-on items rather than mechanical upgrades. If you plan to keep the car for many years and use the roof rack and side ladder on camping trips, the package represents fair value. If you prefer a clean look, buy the regular model and choose accessories individually. Either way, confirm that the accessories do not affect your insurance or warranty terms before you sign.

Pros and Cons

  • Pros: rare, strong turbo and AWD, accessories worth RM10,800 included, rich equipment, long warranty
  • Cons: only one colour, mechanical specification unchanged, accessories could be added to a regular T2 for similar money

Verdict

The Dark Warrior is a sensible limited edition because the extra cost is essentially the cost of the accessories. If you want the rugged look and the roof rack and ladder, buying the pack included is convenient and the limited-run badge adds exclusivity. If you prefer a subtler look, the regular T2 remains great value.
